Our Family History

Hi everyone!

Welcome to our website! As many of you already know I have this obsessive hobby called genealogy. It started many years ago when I saw a family history book of my Grandparents, Frank and Grace Caauwe's family made by my cousin Janice (Wenke) Mills. I'm sure Peg was beside herself with all my charts and papers spread out all over the kitchen table. Well, It's come a long way in research. Now days you can access everything online. The Caauwe name came to America with my Great Grandfather, Peter Caauwe and his five siblings from Wissenkerke, Netherlands. Although my last name is Dutch (or possibly French or German...more on that later) I am predominately German. On Peg's side her surname is Sommerfeld and is German. Most of her side is German although there is at least one generation of the Blakkolb family that lived in Ukrainian Russia. So there are many places from this world in which mine and your DNA is from. I will always be working on this site and updating changes and additions. I will try to include any documents and stories I come across. Please share stories with me about our ancestors so future generations can enjoy them. Feel free to browse and let me know of updates and mistakes, (Genealogists don't made mistakes right?)
